Please make sure to read our guidelines carefully. Please only submit your form once.

  • Prose Manuscripts (Work suitable for YA, NA or Adults) - Please prepare a three-chapter sample, an elevator pitch and a detailed synopsis.

  • Please note we are no longer looking for Children's manuscripts, pictures books, short story collections or poetry manuscripts.

  • Whilst we're open to reading the fantasy, fairytale and mythology genres, we are predominantly looking for magical realism.

  • We take a minimum of eight weeks to consider all work. Please let us know if your manuscript has been selected elsewhere so we can withdraw the manuscript from consideration.

  • We are extremely selective over our manuscript submissions as we only take on one per annum on average. If you're having doubt about whether or not this is the right press for you, please refer to our guidelines to make sure that your work fits within our mission goals. If you're still having doubts, below we have a literary wishlist of stories we want to read and also a list of books that we love.

Our Story Wishlist

  • Don't be scared to explore subtexts of current affairs. We're really interested in the subtle use of social politics, environmental issues, animal rights etc... (Make the work mean something)

  • Something cultural. For example, if you come from a different background, include that inside the fairytale narrative.

  • An LGBT  love story but on the background of something classical. For example, The Princess Bride but with a little more diversity.

  • Something set through the perspective of a child. Think Magic Faraway Tree and Alice in Wonderland.

  • Anything remotely like Stardust (we love you Neil Gaiman), be creative and come up with new and interesting Fairytale concepts.

  • POC Protagonists.

  • Stories with disabled characters, or characters affected by mental illness.

  • Romance!

  • Empowering tales of perseverance and hope.

  • Something witty and profound.
